As I began to talk about fear, I thought about the cross and all the horrible things Jesus was experiencing that day. Remember, He was going through everything a man would ever be faced with, so I was impressed with this chilling thought.
During the course of the torment, I believe this moment which I am about to describe would have been the most fearful. It had been a long day and way too much had happened to Him and all of a sudden He felt lonely and disconnected from His Father. At that time Jesus cried out
with a loud voice “My God! My God! Why have You forsaken me?”
My thoughts turned to us today. Our greatest fear should be if we have forsaken Him. If you live your life totally disconnected from Jesus, some day your desperate call for help, may very well be “My God! My God! why have I forsaken You?
God is so amazing and gracious that He warns us about everything. He gently reminds us that we are not to fear what men may do to your body but we are to fear Him who can cast both Body and Soul into hell!
All fear is not bad. The fear or respect for Jesus is Good. Have a blessed day and fear thou not, for He is with You. Just make sure you are with Him.
There is room at the Cross for you.
You can rest in the finished work of the Cross. He did it for you! No greater love.
