There is nothing wrong for the world to use the symbolic colored egg as a part of celebration because that’s a part of the culture.
On the other hand for Christians to continue to use it even after being informed about the origin of the egg, it becomes an act of disobedience to the word of God, Some do it not knowing the origin, so I thought it would be nice to inform the entire church world of what we are doing in the name of Jesus and passing it off as a great endeavor is not of God.
We are actually displaying a poor witness of the Power of Christ in our lives by not being able to stop this tradition.
Where did the egg idea come from?
The egg was a sacred symbol among the Babylonians.
They believed an old fable about an egg of wonderful size which was suppose to have fallen from heaven into the Euphrates River. From this marvelous egg–according to the ancient story the Goddess Astarte (Easter} was hatched. And so the egg came to symbolize the Goddess Easter.
The egg was a symbol of fertility. Easter was the Goddess of Fertility. And none of this has anything to do with the Jesus being raised from the grave.
Perhaps it’s time for believers who love truth, to stop naively participating in actually anti-Christ traditions.
An unknown author, asked this question–Do you think perhaps the Devil is laughing at us? My personal answer
would have to be Yes he is.
Jesus is enough and all that He did is more than enough.
Jesus said “If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me”. Let’s give Him the glory that He deserves. We are relying on very weak measures to draw people to Christ.
