As the arms of the alcohol spirit continues to reach out and cause more devastation to people’s lives, it takes on the familiar name of D.U.I. Yes that’s a real road block for way too many people. It hinders you from accomplishing a lot of life’s goals. If you get your license suspended for driving under the influence you are crippled in a lot of ways. Now you must depend on others for transportation. That only lasts for a while because people soon tie of running you around after you made a foolish choice to drive half drunk.
Your reputation becomes questionable and whether or not you can accept responsibility will always be in the forefront of any and all decisions others make concerning you.
What is the solution? Prohibition would be wonderful but since that’s not possible perhaps we could start by educating the adults about the dangers of drinking. That sounds like a crazy statement but it is true.
The adults who drink in front of their kids make their task of parenting very hard. Children have enough sense to recognize a double standard. You are responsible to “Train up a child in the way that he should go” to do that well you might need to set a few good examples.
When your children see you come home stoned and they know you drove yourself home in that awful condition, how can you adequately counsel them? You can’t.
All you parents who truly love your kids, help stop this madness by practicing a little self control. Don’t be a boozer because in the end you will only be a looser.
You were made by God to be a winner. Let’s win by picking up the Cross instead of a glass of alcohol.
