Today I would like to ask you a very common question, “Who is your father?” This is not in reference to your earthly father.
Are you aware that Jesus himself talked about two different fathers who have children in this world?
In the book of John, chapter 8 verse 44 , it describes the first father who is the Devil.
These children desire to carry out his desires. Do you remember an old saying , “The Devil Made Me Do It?” Well in many cases people are influenced by the wicked one. However, our selfish nature causes a lot of wrong and foolish behavior. Therefore, you cannot blame everything on the devil.
The scripture does mention that he is the father of lies and the truth is not in him. He’s a deceiver and a destroyer. He also has the character of a roaring lion, who goes around seeking who he may devour.
Our Heavenly Father on the other hand is full of truth and grace. He gives his children good gifts. If we lack wisdom, knowledge, or understanding we just ask for it. Our Father desires that we have health, wealth and soul prosperity.
He has a plan for our lives and the greatest part of the plan is for us to be conformed to His image. Jesus is our role model. So with that in mind you can now ask yourself whose characteristics do I display and who do I really belong to. Who is my Father?
Also keep this in mind , in order to be a child of God you must be born again!
John chapter 3 will help you understand more clearly what it means to be born again.
You had no choice in the matter of who your earthly father would be, but you now have a chance to choose your father.
