Can you believe that it’s the Easter season already?  This a wonderful time for born again believers to share with the world who Jesus is.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the secular trappings of the holiday that it no longer symbolizes one of our most holy days of the year.  However, today I would like to encourage you to take a serious look at how you celebrate Easter.  The church has been called out of the world.  Have we ignored the call. The church has been told not to love the world or the things of world.

Certainly we are to love the people but we are not to adopt their ungodly habits.  Learning their ways is directly contrary to God’s ways.

Who are we listening to ? God or man?

We have developed stock answers and all kinds of excuses for not obeying the word of God. The followers of Jesus were willing to give up things to follow him.  Oddly enough, today we refuse to give up the error of our ways, even for Christ’ sake. The everybody’s doing it  has crept into the church.

I would love to see believers regain the ability to put a difference between holy and unholy.  That is actually a command of God.

Thou shall not lie is also a reminder from God. I use to lie to myself and say God understood what I was doing because I was doing things to make my kids happy. But one day my eyes were open to the truth and I made a quality decision to stop telling all the lies that so quickly come out ones mouth while you’re trying to make the kids happy. I decided to detach myself from what the Bible refers to as Pagan holidays.  You can start your detachment by listening to yourself during the holy day and see just how much attention you give Jesus verses the Bunny. How many untruths you utter in your attempt to make the holiday great. What lengths you go to in pleasing your children and

unfortunately in the process, often times the truly great one is hardly mentioned. The reality of our  actions has a negative affect on our kids because the bunny becomes more real because you have created a visual aid and children like to see things. Then when you attempt to make Jesus real to them it’s much, much harder because the true visual aid is not there. So now Jesus must take a back seat to Peter Cotton Tail.

With that in mind I would like to share some scriptures that I hope will enlighten your heart and mind.  I also hope you will receive what I’m about to share.  I hope you will grow. I hope you cheerfully give the error of your ways to Jesus. I did and I’m so glad I did! After all God Loves A Cheerful Giver and that not just your money.

Now let’s go to the book of Isaiah 42:8  I’m going to share several different translations with you.

New International Version

I’am the Lord, that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols.  {Do we or do we not give the Easter bunny glory?}

King James Version

I am the Lord, that is my name:and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

I would like to share this little poem that God gave to me about four years ago. So for those of you who know me you count how many years it has taken for me to find this nugget of truth in the word of God.

True Meaning of Easter

It’s not about bunnies

It’s not about eggs.

It’s about our Savior

Who died on the old rugged cross

Who shed his blood because of His love for us

Who gave His life to show us how to give and live.                                             So, can you and I agree?

It’ not about bunnies and it’s not about eggs; It’s about our Savoir who was Raised From The Grave!

May you have a wonderful Resurrection Sunday. Jesus is alive and He is the name above all names.

God bless you and I truly love you!

This truth is spoken in love.
